Marists at Work
Our founder had a vision of all people of faith working
together to build up the Church, the people of God. Since then, we’ve
been inspired by that dream in our ministries as pastors and educators.
But we also carry out this same mission as chaplains in hospitals
and prisons, as campus ministers and retreat directors; and as lawyers
and missionaries.
Whatever the form of our ministry, we seek to embody
a spirit of healing, reconciling and merciful presence to everyone
we encounter.
As Marists, who we are and what motivates our service is much more
important than what we do.
While individual preferences and talents are always
taken into consideration, assignments for ministry are a community
matter.
The provincial,
in consultation with his council, will assign a member to a particular
ministry having considered the needs of the Church, those of
the community as well as the talents of the individual.
Marists of the Atlanta Province can minister in those
states aside from New England and the state of Michigan which is
part
of the
Boston Province. We also can serve in other countries such
as the Philippines,
Oceania and Brazil.
Marists priests and brothers go where the need is
and are committed to prayerfully living out the Gospel in everyday
life.
